Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Barako Technologies (“we”, “us”; barako.tech) handles information in Like a Rolling Stone (the “Game”). The Game is intended to be suitable for a general audience, including children. By playing, you agree to this policy.
The short version
We do not ask for your real name, email, or phone number. You play with a username and password. We store your gameplay (scores, coins) and basic, non-identifying telemetry to run and improve the Game. The Game may show ads; for children these are non-personalized. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Accounts
You create an account with a username (unique, your choice) and a password, which lets you play across devices. We don’t require an email address or your real identity. Your username is public on leaderboards — please don’t use your real name or any personal information as your username. We discourage it, and you are responsible for what you choose to put there.
Information we collect
- Account data: your username and a securely hashed password. No email, no real name (unless you place one in your username, which we discourage).
- Gameplay data: scores, distance, coins/gold, and similar progress.
- Business telemetry & analytics: in-game events (e.g. game start / game over) and basic technical/device information (such as app version and device type) that we use to understand engagement, fix problems, and improve the Game. This telemetry is not used to identify you personally.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or precise location. The only way personal information enters the Game is if you voluntarily type it into your username — please don’t.
Advertising
The Game may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising partners. Where the user is a child, or where required by law, ads are served on a non-personalized (contextual) basis — they are not based on profiling. Ad partners may process limited device information needed to serve, cap, and measure ads in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not share your username or gameplay data with advertisers for targeting.
How we use information
- To run the Game, save your progress, and power leaderboards.
- To analyze engagement and improve gameplay, balance, and performance (business analytics).
- To show ads as described above and to keep the Game free.
- To detect cheating or abuse and enforce our Terms.
What is public
Your username and best results appear on public leaderboards (in the Game and on this website). Everything else is private to your account.
Children’s privacy
The Game is designed to be appropriate for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children: we don’t request real names, emails, or contact details, and ads shown to children are non-personalized. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information (for example, by putting it in a username), contact us at hello@barako.tech and we will review and delete it.
In-game currency
“Gold”/coins are a virtual in-game currency with no monetary value. They cannot be bought with real money, exchanged for cash, or transferred between accounts.
Sharing
We don’t sell your data. We share data only with: a hosting/database provider that stores it on our behalf; advertising partners (limited device data, as above); and authorities if required by law or to protect our rights and our users.
Retention & your choices
We keep account and gameplay data while your account is active. To access or delete your data, email hello@barako.tech with your username so we can locate your record.
Security & responsibility
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for unauthorized access beyond our reasonable control.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
